Welcome to DDA!

Welcome all DDA current and prospective members! It is time to get our exciting 2010-2011 year started and we want YOU to be a part! As President, I want you to know that we have listened to your comments/ideas and have really worked to shape DDA to a member-focused organization. From social activities to multi-location meetings to CPEs, we are aiming to meet your networking and education goals in a fun, inviting atmosphere whether you are a sassy extrovert or an exquisite introvert. With work and social demands I know keeping up can be a task so here are your “President’s 3 Highlights”:

Become a DDA Member —To join the fun, you must become a member! Get signed up or renew your membership ASAP. Join online at www.eatrightdallas.org. The current reduced prices are $25 for Registered Dietitians and Dietetic Techs, $10 for students/interns and $1 for our classy retired dietitians. Please note that prices will increase after September 30th so jump on-line TODAY and become a member!

Win—If you join DDA before the first meeting, August 24th, you will be entered in a drawing to win 2 sets of 2 tickets to a Texas Rangers Game, one of the hottest teams in major league baseball! And…you get to pick your game! Sign-up by September 21st and you will be entered into a drawing for a $100 gift certificate to Tangerine Salon and Spa with 3 Dallas-area locations. Each meeting will also have mini prizes sprinkled throughout, but you must be present to win so mark the meeting dates on your calendar!!!

Get Social —DDA will be offering a variety of social events this year. Whether you are a new RD, an RD mom with a toddler, a working professional or one of our “over 50 & fabulous” dietitians, we will have a social for you to mingle with other RDs that are at your same place in life. This year DDA will also be hosting its first ever “DDA Date Night” to raise money for our childhood obesity initiative. Need a date, have a date you want to give away or just want to watch a bunch of men get auctioned off to support a good cause? Be on the lookout for details…a night you don’t want to miss!
