Experience:
To qualify, you must have a bachelor’s degree in food and nutrition with one year of related experience in an acute care setting through an American Dietetic Association (ADA) coordinated undergraduate program or an ADA accredited internship program. You must be a registered dietician with the ADA and be licensed to practice dietetics by the Texas Board of Dieticians. Applicants without such registration and licensure must obtain it within one year of employment. A working knowledge of database programs and data report analysis software is required. Responsibilities:
In this position, you will provide nutritional education and care to our patients and serve as a resource to staff members by providing nutritional expertise. This involves screening patients for nutritional risk, assessing and evaluating their nutritional status, consulting with physicians and support staff to assure optimal patient care, and developing individualized care plans according to each patient’s schedule, preferences, age, disease state and resources. You will also be responsible for documenting patient records, following up with patients, and training and monitoring dietetic technicians, student interns or trainees.
