This site was created by Connie Evers, M.S., R.D., a registered dietitian who has worked in children's nutrition for many years. She posts weekly children's nutrition tips, a page on how to teach nutrition to kids, a feeding kids newsletter, and a page for visitors to ask Connie questions.
General Health and Nutrition Information
- Ask the Dietitian
A registered dietitian, Joanne Larsen, M.S., R.D., L.D., answers questions on over 60 nutrition topics. Answers are very comprehensive and cover a variety of topics: chromium, diabetic exchanges, sports nutrition, anorexia, drug nutrient interactions.
- NCAHF (National Council Against Health Fraud)
This is a non-profit, voluntary health agency that focuses on health fraud, misinformation and quackery. It is made up of health professionals, educators, researchers, attorneys and concerned citizens. This site has information on a wide variety of health products available over-the-counter. Visitors can also e-mail any questions they have about a particular product.
- Nutrition Analysis Tool
University of Illinois nutrition analysis tool. Visitors can type in what they eat, then click on what nutrients they are interested in, and get a breakdown of their diet.

The Dallas Dietetic Association is pleased to present you with a means of assessing your daily calorie needs. Fill out this form and find out how many calories you should be consuming each day to maintain your weight if you are 19 years or older. If you make a mistake completing the information, click "Clear Form". Once your information is complete, click "Calculate"
- Body Mass Index Calculators
This body mass index (BMI) calculator considers the visitor's age, and also computes the visitor's weight percentile in in relation to others of the same age, sex and height. There is a BMI calculator for women and one that is gender-neutral. This calculator was developed by Steven Halls, MD.
